Your griddle is ready to use out of the box, but additional seasoning will protect your griddle for a lifetime of use.
1. Wash griddle with mild dish soap and warm water and dry off with a lint free rag.
2. Set your oven to 450. While the oven is preheating, place the griddle face down and let it gradually heat up for 15 min. This ensures your griddle is completely dry prior to seasoning.
3. Pull the griddle out carefully and set on the stove for a safe flat surface. Now that it’s hot, apply 1 teaspoon of liquid gold directly on the griddle. As the liquid gold melts, spread it thoroughly with a microfiber rag. Be sure to work it in evenly. You do not want spots or puddles. This will cause uneven seasoning.
4. Once it’s spread evenly, place the griddle back into the oven facedown for 30 min.
5. After 30 min, pull the griddle out. At this point your griddle should have a gold sheen to it. For deeper seasoning, add another teaspoon of liquid gold, spread evenly and put back in the oven for another 30 min.
6. For superior results, repeat steps 3-5 for a total of 3 times.
