Steps

  1. Get your charcoal started ahead of time. This will take the full 30 min to light so you’ll want to make sure you account for this.

Pro Tip

For charcoal lighting tips, check out our getting started videos.

  1. Once your Nomad Fire is ready, place an even amount of hot coals in both cook boxes. Place the Carbon Steel Griddle on one side and Cast Cooking grate on the other.
  2. While the griddle & grate heat up, apply a light coat of olive oil and season the porter house with salt or your seasoning of choice.
  3. Place the steak directly on the cast cooking grate. Grill to rare or medium rare and slice the porter house steak against the grain.
  4. Bone and all, place the steak on the griddle to sear and finish cooking to medium or medium well.
  5. Crack 3-4 eggs on the griddle. You can add your favorite seasoning on the eggs as well.
  6. Once the eggs and steak are cooked, dip into the egg yolk and enjoy!
